What Birbyne is

Birbyne is a personalised digest of publicly available legal material. It crawls official and academic sources — courts, gazettes, regulators, law reviews — summarises what it finds, and selects the items that match the practice profile you give us. It is delivered by email, and as a printable PDF.

It is not legal advice

Everything in a digest is editorial summary of public material. It is not legal advice, it does not create a lawyer–client relationship, and it is not a substitute for reading the source. Every item links to its origin, and where a summary and the source disagree, the source governs. Summaries are produced automatically and will sometimes be wrong or incomplete. You are a professional reader: treat a Birbyne item as a pointer to a document, never as the document.

Source material and copyright

We link to primary sources and quote only what is needed to identify and summarise an item. Copyright in the underlying material stays with whoever holds it. Where a source sets reuse conditions, we record them alongside the source and respect them.

Your account

Access is by emailed link — there are no passwords. Anyone holding a link sent to your address can view and change your preferences until that link expires, so treat forwarded Birbyne email as you would any other account mail.

You may stop at any time. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click, and a link to delete your account outright.

Availability

Birbyne is operated on a best-effort basis. Issues may be late, thin, or missed entirely if a source goes down or the pipeline fails. If we cannot fill an issue with material that is both fresh and relevant to you, we would rather send you a short issue than pad it.

Price

Birbyne is currently free while it is in beta. If that changes you will be told before any charge, and no payment details are collected until then.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a digest. This does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

If these terms change materially, subscribers are told by email before the change takes effect.
